I am looking to download the firmware update for my router, which is a Sagemcom fast 5260. I am unable to find out where to do this and I was wondering if anyone can give me a hand with where to go.
I saw a post here on reddit which finally linked to charter's latest firmware for the Sagemcom F@st 5260. The person who commented on the post said that it took years worth of internal feed back from within to test it and fully get it worked out and working before released and then below he linked to the download. As an IT Admin I know that it's impossible to update a WiFi router without the firmware files without having the ability to set automatic updates, which I know is not set on my router since I have been on the same version for two years now and I was told that update was automatic once I rebooted but that's actually not the case because I still have the firmware I had before I rebooted as requested to get the update. I do know that Spectrum does update the modems for us automatically though via a reboot but it seems it's not actually possible with WiFi routers just modems, and MTA / Cable Boxes because I tried the tech support's common request to reboot the modem to get the update, which is funny because as an IT Admin I did all the troubleshooting steps we know of as IT Admins and still to my surprise went through again with Their tech support and still no dice which is why I called after not being able to see the modem update at all.
Multiple tech support people said the firmware had to be downloaded from spectrum's website and they guided me to a link that simply isn't showing up so they are looking into the issue.
However when I went to the subreddit post that had the link that the charter tech support wanted me to download for this router and what do you know the reddit posted was moved and no where to be found.
My main question is where did the link go? Any chance they pulled the update due to issues. If so why wouldn't this have been posted anywhere on Reddit, being that there are charter employee's here who are in that department I see them post more confidential stuff than others in other departments so I truly thought I would see something here about it.
